Newsletter

Communication (with customers and employees) is key in today's competitive marketplace. That's why you need a newsworthy newsletter (printed, electronic or both). Average price range: $250 - $350/page.

Article

A feature story can add a fresh perspective to your existing newsletter. And an industry-related article (penned by Peter but by-lined by someone within your organization) can garner valuable publicity in industry publications. Average price range for either: $300 - $1,500.

Press Release (one to two pages)

Press coverage is notoriously hard to get and impossible to predict. But some press releases have what it takes to overcome these obstacles. Average price range: $300 - $600.

Backgrounder/Fact Sheet

Let members of the media, business allies and customers know the history of, and facts about, your company. Average price range: $300 - $500.

Print Ad (partial or full-page)

Advertise your product or services in newspapers, magazines, and industry publications. Average price range: $400 - $750.

Flyer (usually 8 1/2 x 11, folded into thirds)

Also known as a "slim Jim." Promote your business and generate sales leads with one of the most popular and versatile marketing vehicles. Use a flyer in direct-mail marketing efforts, at sales meetings, on the convention floor and more. Average price range: $475 - $750.

Mutli-page Brochure or One-page Sales Sheet
(usually 7 x 10 or 8 1/2 x 11)

Just the thing for describing the features and benefits of your products or services. Average price range: $250 - $300/page.

Product Descriptions/Catalog Copy

Tell customers how your products are different from one another - and better than others on the market. Average price range: $50 - $100 per product description.

Marketing E-mail

Use e-mail to let your customers know about special offers and more. Average price range: $300 - $450.

Web Site

Whether you do business via the Internet, or you just want to hold sway there, having a well-written and logically organized Web site is key. Average price range: $1,500 - $2,500.

One-step Direct-mail Kit

Also known as a mail-order kit. Includes all the information and materials the recipient needs to buy your product or service: envelope "teaser copy," cover letter, lift note, brochure, order form, etc. Average price range: $1,500 - $4,000.

Two-step Direct-mail Kit

Also known as a direct-mail sales-lead generator. Includes the "teaser" copy for the outside of the envelope, a cover letter and a flyer. Average price range: $1,250 - $2,750.

Sales Letter (one to two pages)

Also known as a cover letter. A great way to promote your business and generate sales leads via direct-mail marketing. Average price range: $400 - $600.

Marketing Postcard

Use a traditional postcard or a double-postcard (which includes a customer-reply card) to generate sales leads less expensively. Average price range: $275 - $500.

Case Study

Show by example how your product or service has benefited a customer. Average price range: $400 - $600.

Customer Testimonial

SEO Report

Chances are, when prospective customers Google your service offerings (e.g. "Seattle investment advisor," "reproduction lamps," "best plumber," etc.) your Web site doesn't even appear in the first 25 pages of search results. A search-engine optimization (SEO) report evaluates the SEO techniques your competitors are using, then lays out a plan for how you can beat them at their own game (and move to the top of the search results).
